I am about to replace the caravan battery which I do every 2 - 3 years
Irrespective of its condition as I have a Powrtouch 4x4 mover and it's needed every time I take the van away and back home to get the van up a sloping drive and round a 90 degree bend to where it's parked, so it's worked quite hard.

For the last 8 -9 years I have been using Platinum Leisure Plus 6110L
AH (20) 110amp and found them really good. However I went to my local dealer to buy the same again ( which they have) and they suggested buying the new Platinum model which is a Platinum Leisure
AGM Plus AGML B6110L AH (20H) 100amp which shows on the battery suitable for motor movers.

The dealer told me that because of the new Platinum the warranty will not be covered on the Leisure Plus if used with a motor mover.
The new AGM battery is the same length and width but slightly lower,
however my main concern is that the new AGM battery shows 100amp
against the leisure plus that I have always used is 110amp.
Does anyone know if this new AGM 100 amp will be better than the 110 amp Leisure plus I have been using previously. I always stay on EHU when away with the van , so always kept charged for when I get home and need to use the movers.
Any thoughts or help would be helpful
Thanks

We replaced the battery for our van before Christmas and the new one was 100Ah, we have not had any issues all season and the mover is used to put the van onto a pitch and into storage.

One thing I have found out - an 85ah battery will last 10 minutes when used continuously by a motor mover. So a 100ah battery should last about 11.75 minutes and a 110ah battery should last 13 minutes.

So not a lot of difference between them really.

Hope this helps.

One other thing though - The Powrtouch Motor movers have a 5 year "No Quibble" guarantee so it should not make any difference where the power comes from. I would check with Powrtouch - the dealer may be giving you a load of bunkum.

The reason I was concerned about dropping to 100ah from 110ah is that the battery has to run 4 movers not two. They told me the AGM us deep cycle and will last longer , particularly if on sites without EHU. But as I mentioned I always stay on on EHU and replace the battery every 2 -3 years . So not sure now to get the same as I have always had or go for the AGM.
There is a price difference the Leisure Plus 110ah is about £95 to the AGM 100ah of £125 . This is not a deciding factor though , I just want to get the one that can handle the quad movers longer and under load as the fully loaded is nearly 1900 kegs?

I don't know if this helps or not, but is it possible to connect to the EHU on site to prevent flattening the battery whilst positioning the caravan?
Would this possibly damage the charger?

The average motor mover uses about 20 amps, so 40amps for a double mover. That still gives you about 2 hours running on a 100ah battery.

I've got a quad mover with a 110 amp battery, I use on the drive and on storage site. We are always on Ehu on site and it certainly lasts more than 10 minutes!
I do think your dealer is spinning you a line about that battery, does it actually say it's unsuitable for movers?
