Hi guys. Swapped my beloved folding camper this spring for a caravan. This unit has a Shurflo onboard water pump. It's ridiculously noisy. Yes I know the whole internet says they are noisy but I'm looking for some comparisons here please. The best way to explain it is , when I run hot or cold water it sounds like a chinook helicopter is coming. The longer it runs the louder it gets and it's outrageous, this can't be a product sold like this. The sound reverberates down the pipe work. I've tried putting some damping sponge under the pump, it made now difference what so ever.
Also, I can see the pulsing that the noise makes in the flow of water if you understand me. The flow is not constant it pulses with the noise.
My water barrel attachent is truma, but there's no pump in the barrel , just a pipe with filter even though the van has a connection for a pump on the connector.

Is the pump faulty?
Is there any adjustment on flow or pressure ?
Should I have a pump in the barrel or just one or the other ?
Please help, it's making a terrible racket !!
Thanks for reading.
Cheers.

Best Regards

I quietened ours by 75-80% by mounting on rubber feet and replacing the pipe work each side of the pump with 12mm flexible braided hose. Also took the strainer off end of pipe as it has a filter on the pump inlet side and then fitted a non return valve in the end.Now once all the air has been cleared from system no more air is let in each time water is changed.Of cause if water is allowed to run out air will still get sucked in.
