I am thinking of putting a drop down (fold flat) parking post at the bottom of our drive.
Whilst our caravan already has Alko wheel lock, hitchlock and an alarm anything which would make it more difficult for a ******** to take it off our drive has got to be worth considering.
Has anyone fitted one of these posts? There are so many available online it would be good to know if anyone has direct experience of a particular make.
We had 2 of these fitted to our drive as we live quite rural and no lighted lanes so a little bit of a risk of undeterred theft I guess.
The only ones I bought were the vertical drop ones as opposed to folding over, this way they just seat into the drive and you physically pull them upwards and lock in place.
There are loads of different ones on the market and you can buy from Ebay and Amazon which are a little cheaper, but make sure you get the anti-ram ones and secure them well as otherwise if poorly fitted or made, you are wasting your money.

I am in the alarm industry, if you have a house alarm then as I do fit a wire free shock sensor to your hitch, then even before anyone tryies to move it the main house alarm will sound, I fit these under the hitch hook cover so they move this first and then the alarm goes off. As for the post they just put a chain around them and pull it off unless you have a T bar inbeded into the ground then its hard for them to move it.

Since having the MM fitted,I just put the van with the hitch up against the wall, that way the door is against my fence, and rear steadies lowered((along with the usual wheel clamp hitch lock etc,)make's life harder for the low life when they have to try to turn it round.
You can also fix a wall ring, and put a chain around the hitch
Many thanks for these suggestions, which pretty much confirm what I was thinking.
It would be difficult to excavate enough to have the retractble type which JohnnyE is using, but we can definitely dig up enough to use the concrete embedded ones.
