Just bought our first caravan, a 2000 Herald St Legar. I've got lots of questions but the first thing I've tackled is fixing the cracked A-frame fairing. The fairing is fixed but it's missing two fasteners on top at the front either side of the handbrake aperture.

I can't post a picture but the receptacle for the fastener is a metal prong with a bulbous head, sort of like a tiny light bulb in shape. I'm hoping this is some standard sort of fastener but not knowing the name for it makes it impossible to find.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply but it's not a rivet.

A better analogy would be a towball. There are two holes in the fairing with these miniature towballs coming through them. There is obviously some sort of fitting that attaches to these no doubt in a similar way to a tow ball applying pressure to the neck under the ball to secure the fairing. Just no idea what they are.

I think you are looking for something called "Press the Dot" fasteners. Google them

That's a very similar shape but I don't think that's it. The holes are recessed so I can't see how those fittings would be removed to take the fairing off.

I've found something called tree-lok fittings as well that are very similar but mine are metal instead of plastic.
