A "no vans" rule is applicable at most sites. It is usually imposed to debar travelling "workers" from using the sites although it also impacts on private use vans as in your case. Some will accept vans with side windows behind the front seats although this may be an expense you do not wish to encounter. You may also find that vans will be accepted at the smaller 5 van sites, but then you would need to be members of the appropriate club.

Essentially the sites are trying to discriminate against travellers, but they are not allowed to do it directly so discriminate against their vehicles. If you call them up and don't speak with an Irish accents or ask to pay in cash, most sites will bend on the rule.

Lots of big white vans towing twin axles in France, they are 'gens de voyage'!
The vans with rear seats and windows (not minibuses) are quite popular for towing with some dutch and belgians.

Interesting to note that many gypsies use Range rover type vehicles in addition to the usual Mercs and Beemers. .and vans! .we've never been queried about our Berlingo mpv. . .
