new caravan coming up retirement present to myself not sure on heating type too have wet system or blown air any comments on which would be best plan to do winter caravaning
Whale blown air for us too, keeps the van cosy all year round, just make sure that you are happy with the positioning of the vents, our bathroom vent blows out close to the toilet base, which is good to prevent freezing during colder weather, but can heat contents in holding tank causing a build up of toilet gas in the cassette.

We have the Alde wet system [now in its 9th year] and would not buy a replacement van without that level of sophistication.
Being retired we spend quite extended periods away in the van, more "living" than holidaying now, so want home like levels of comfort.
the new alde system is meant to be fantastic, the OH has it in a 1990 bessacarr and it gets the van roasting in no time plus the radiators hold the heat, new system is dual (electric and gas), lots of manufacturers are fitting it as standard, what does that tell you
Alde(not Aldi) is the best IMO. Currently looking to buy a new van and would not buy one without it.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
No! We didn't buy it from Aldi!! Sorry! Alde . I think once you've had the benefit of Alde heating you are spoilt for any other.I love also the fact you can time it to come on before you get up on a cold winter's morning.
Blown air systems also have thermostatic control which can be set to temp you require. Those with noisy fans need seeing to.
When retiring we set stat to 6 fan on 2 and control on to A (auto),If one has to get up during the night there is nice gentle warm breeze around your ankles and the plastic floor is warm to the touch.
If there is explosive gases building up in your soil tank (Methane) the tank requires attention as they are designed to vent into locker and leak out from bottom of same or buy a fan operated system that blows the stench into your awning or next doors, van CH systems are great but more expensive and heavier plus you have to be careful with hot towel rails.
Hi
Blow air on our last 3 vans.
A friend of mine said that the Alde that was fitted on his van was great on hook up, but without hook up took 24 hrs to warm up?
Now if thats true or not, i don't know.
Hi Ray......that may be true on hook up.......but if you switch to gas it heats up in about 30 minutes, then switch to the EHU and it maitains the heat easily........the comment from naturlist is valid but my problem on the boat with the blown heating was the noise of the forced air through the vents...not a noisy fan.
