I'm looking to live for the next few months in my tourer at a Caravan Club site. I understand that you have to move out every 21 days but was wondering whether it is usually possible to store the van on site then move it back onto a pitch a few days later? I spoke to a warden at the site and they seemed to think that you have to move the van off site completely, but didn't sound convincing. Is this a standard caravan club rule or was said warden wrong in thinking this? Or is it up to each individual site to set their own rules? Not having to move the van off site would make it a lot less hassle for me so was hoping it may be possible.
The Sandringham estate are offering long term pitches throughout the winter that exceed the usual 21night rule. They are also quite good value, im sure that the wardens there would be happy to pass on further details to you if you give them a call.
Not all CC sites are open throughout the winter months, or have similar offers to this one, but non of the offers include stays over the Christmas and new year periods, where site fees revert back to normal tarrif prices.

It's nothing to do with club rules. It's to comply with the council regulations as the bye-law is passed in accordance with applications served by the Police regarding evicting illegal travellers. There has to be a time limit for anyone living permanently in a caravan by law in order for a judge to serve notice where required. If a site owner wants to increase the official deadline of 28 days then a licence has to be applied for and granted by the courts so if the authorities do decide to make a visit then the necessary documentation can be provided as evidence.
Caravan storage can be provided on site 12 months of the year merely because nobody is living in the unit so the licence comes under a different category in connection with the county council regulations.
Hi jjsmith, we've always had a MUCH better reception over this sort of arrangement from the Camping and Caravaning Club ( aka The Friendly Club ). Don't know the area you want, but that was our experience.
