So we bought an old caravan and we are doing her up and there is some quite bad rust that we're repairing. This part of the caravan though is beyond repair and we could do with a new one really but I don't know what the part is called so can't look into what is best!
I think it's a breaked coupling? Can you buy one of these with a built in stabiliser or is it best to go with a snake bar set up?
Any thoughts and opinions would be great. We have a 1978 Eccles topaz (850kg full laden) and a VW 2012 plate touran with a standard ball tow bar.
The stabiliser just replaces the actual coupling to your towball and you will find a "how to fit an Alko stabiliser" video on Youtube. Unless your Touran towbar has a swan neck coupling you may also need an Alko extended towball, although I cannot see why a towball spacer could not be used. (No doubt if there is a reason why a spacer cannot be used someone will post the reason).
