We are going to mid Wales in August, would like a stopover on the A5 or A458 around Shrewsbury. Services considered if safe, but would prefer a cl or campsite.
Couple of sites between Gailey and Weston-under-Lizard (A5), or Welshpool car park (overnight caravans - and other trailers - permitted but chargeable)?
Discounted Insurance Quotes for UKCampsite.co.uk visitors! Up to 12.5% off!
If you leave the A5 and take the A453 to Sutton Coldfield. After the traffic lights about 2 miles there is a left turn into Drayton Lane which about another half a mile there is Caravan Club CL on the right which charges £10 per night including EHU. Returning to the A5 via the A453 you turn left at the traffic lights at 'Mile Oak' which takes you back on to the A5 (west).
The CL is called 'South View' which will be in your CC campsite book.
If you want cheaper/basic, Sutton Grange Nursery at Shrewsbury is easily accessible, see my review, can't do links either. It won't be muddy at this time of year.

I had thought of Sutton Grange Nursery, but at the moment the road to there is closed from Weeping Cross island to Meole Brace for road works, and operating on a one way only system, making it a rather tedious journey especially when getting caught up in the Meole Brace traffic.
That's a shame. There is also a CL at Salop Leisure but I think it's expensive, not stayed there.
White Pump Farm at Ivetsy Bank is ok, but probably not far enough along the A5. Or Crossroads Farm just off the A41 at Blymhill Common (been there, ok for a night).
