Looking to replace my current tourer but have some specific requirements. Looking for suggestions from my helpful friends on here.
Capable of taking 2 bike rack - front or rear.
Decent kitchen worktop area
Fixed double bed or realistically twins that convert
Two berth preferred but open to more - not too long.
Recent model - not new though - single axle and decent quality
Will consider anything. Looked at Hymer but poor kitchen layouts unfortunately.
Any advice appreciated
Hi
I would try to visit a caravan showroom if possible. Our first 2 vans were what we could afford and what was available at the time. When buying our third (new to us) van, we went around as many vans as we could to decide what suited us. Sometimes what works in theory... doesn't. Esp when we have to factor in 2 dogs!
Not sure if thats any help...good luck with your search!
We have a Swift Challenger sport 2015 model which we have just had a bike rack fitted on the back. As far as I know this can be done on any Swift post 2015 with the Smart construction. So far we are very pleased with it as we were finding it difficult lifting the bikes in and out of the van all the time. J x
Thanks Julie. I did read that Swifts can take a rack. One of reasons we want a change. A lot of continental vans we see have a rack - front or back.
Started us thinking. I asked Lunar re our Stellar but they said no.
Concerning your bike rack requirement, if you did not want to fork out for a post 2015 Swift caravan, you could always have a rack fitted to your towing vehicle.
Thanks mm, problem is access to CRV rear door and I have a detachable tow bar.
Solution might be a rack on Lunar. I wonder if that could be achieved?
I might pose that question next.
How about an Elddis or Compass 482 (I think from 2015 onwards, but please check), which I believe can have a Fiamma twin bike rack fitted at the rear.
Good kitchen worktop area with additional pull-out above fridge. No fixed double bed, but otherwise seems to meet your requirements.
