Full service includes chassis service. Chassis service on it's own does not include check of interior appliances. Around the date of your caravan, '93 they were changing from the old type bearings to sealed bearings & it is more difficult to check if sealed bearings are about to fail so not necessarily fault of serviceman.
I presume you are getting caravan fixed so get both wheel bearings replaced & brake linings as well & you are good to go any distance.
If you are able to jack up caravan its not a bad idea between trips to jack each wheel off ground & spin the wheel. It should run freely. If you grasp tyre each side & try to rock wheel from side to side there should be none or barely discernible play. Also you should check wheelnuts are tight before trips.
