Hi, I am after a porch awning for my 95 Coachman as the full size awning is too big and heavy and too much work to put up. I have seen a nice lightweight one but typically the height is 235-250cm, I was going to buy it but thought I'd better measure the height of the awning rail first and it was 220cm. Thing is I cannot find a porch awning to this height and don't really want to park the van on ramps each time we go away. Does anyone know of an awning to this height? Or can offer any more advice?
All you do when pegging the sides near the van is to take them outwards, out of the vertical to take up the length. All porch awnings are made the same height.

I know that some Coachman 1995 models had a boat roof such as the Mirage and Genius models but the VIP had a flat roof I believe. Does your Coachman happen to have a boat roof where there is a centre strip and the roof slants down either side?
This makes me think why the height is 220 cms. high.
The outdoor revolution compactalite is the one we have and I peg ours out. We also bought the rear poles as extras to keep it tight to the side of caravan. To peg it outwards I unclip the rear strap that runs across the ground

Yes mine is the boat roof
When caravans were manufactured with the older design boat roof, only full awnings were available at that time so porch awnings didn't start coming onto the market until the design of the flat roof became more popular. Because of this reason you may find it difficult to find a porch awning with a lower height of 30 cms. which in imperial measurement is about a foot.
A full awning may be your best option unless anyone knows a brand in particular that will fit the boat roof design.
With a porch awning if the caravan is not on level ground you will have to peg sides out as you cannot just slide it through like a full awing to level up.
