hi I have a coachman amara, does anyone know where the pressure switch is? the pump keeps running every few minutes and think this may need adjusted

The pressure switch is usually mounted on floor within two feet of the fresh water inlet, usually in locker under seating.
I think you have a leak as the pressure backs off by leaking so pump cuts in to bring pressure back up. check no taps or shower are dripping, if okay look for leak if you have push in connectors or check over flow from heater (top tee piece) only takes piece of dirt less than pinhead to stop ball valve from closing after     de-aerating.

I had the same issue last year and it turned out to be the non return valve was faulty.
I fitted a new one and adjusted the pressure switch, not had any problems since.

Not saying it is the problem but possibly another option to check.

Common problem is the seals on the pump leaking check that you dont have a leak where the pump plugs in.

When you find the pressure switch it may be the type with a wheel on the top.
-Turn this clockwise down as far as it will go, without forcing it.
-Turn on a cold tap, and the pump will start, then turn off - this will leave the pump running
-Turn the wheel on the switch anti clock now until the pump stops
-Turn a further half turn, and this should be about right.

From this position, you may need to adjust slightly one way or the other, to find a good position. Remember that the hot water will take longer to pressurise, so expect a longer pump run time.

If you switch from 230v to 12v, you may need to repeat the above.
Once the system is operating correctly, if the pump comes on unexpectedly, then as mentioned, check for dripping taps, or leaking connections - think of it as a warning system.

hi. I found the pressure switch and adjusted pressure but still no joy, I have put on a new pump and still the same, the voltage on the battery looks fine sitting at 13 volts, can't see any visible leak of water any suggestions?

hi there is a bit of water that is coming out of the pump connection on the van, after I unplug the pump, could this be the cause and what do I do?

If water is dribbling even slightly from the exterior connector block to the van, this is your problem. Even a very small leak causes the pressure within the van to drop, which in turn starts the pump and so the cycle continues until you run out of water, after which the pump will run dry for a while until it burns out.

If the block is a Whale type it is sealed to the van with 2 thin o rings, which need regular replacement, and lubrication to ease fitting - you must push the block fully in so that the cover flap can be folded down to horizontal.

Another common problem is on the pump again where the tubing from the pump its self to the block comes loose and needs pushed back on and the clip tightened.

If you have a trauma water heater check the red plastic valve at the top with a clear plastic tube going down through the floor.See if this is dribbling water.If so this is why it is loosing pressure and pump cutting in.Other than that is would replace non return valve.
