Hi I've just purchased a Sterckeman vintage 1978 340E Premiere GT caravan was wondering if anyone knows much about this make. I know it's French but that's about it. 🙂
Nothing much to know. The brand name is now owned by Trigano so not much connection with 1978 models. Best bet is to do some googling in French. The French like old stuff so there is bound to be an owners club for old Sterckemans.
We had a Freedom caravan a few years ago. We havent got it now. We had it from Stafford, they also dealt with Sterkeman caravans. Maybe they might be able to give you some information on them.
------------- Enjoy life while you can, none of us know what's round the corner!
I have a Streckeman too. The dealer in Stratford should be able to help you with spares and contact Sterkeman direct. They may be a bit slow in replying but you'll get an answer.
Enjoy your new toy!!
I know this is a very old post but I am looking to purchase one of these caravans and cannot find anything online. I have emailed Sterckeman for the spec but haven’t heard anything back yet and don’t want to wait just incase I loose it.

Hi there,
I know this is a very old post but I am looking to purchase one of these caravans and cannot find anything online. I have emailed Sterckeman for the spec but haven’t heard anything back yet and don’t want to wait just incase I loose it.
Do you have any info that I could have spec wise?
Do you mean you want to buy a modern one? Also look at Caravelair because both brands are identical these days. Owned by Trigano & both made in the same factory in southern France.
I don’t think Sterckeman have a UK importer now & Caravelair only are imported in UK versions & distributed by Marquis who will not supply the continental layouts. Very few secondhand in UK. about one on eBay now.
Both Sterckeman & Caravelair have good websites in English with all specs listed. Google for them.
If you want one then look over the water. Google for Belgian dealers Decuyper for Caravelair & Rijmaran for Sterckeman. Both will speak & answer emails in English. Both are an hour or so driving distance from Calais so you could buy one on a day trip & collect on another day trip. Pay by bank transfer.
This year at least there is no probs buying in Europe. You pay in full including Vat at local rate then tow back to UK. No customs or anything.
