Hi, we are about to advertise our well loved caravan (we are wanting a larger model) but want your opinions on what kit to leave with it.
Is it normal practice to include the leisure battery and gas bottle in the sale?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thank you
Leisure battery - are you planning on buying a new one to go with your new van? If yes, let the old one go with your current van.
Gas bottle - you'll need that with your new van will you not, so keep that.
Only include what you will not need or want in your new van. No point in giving some one else a bargain and then you having to fork out to buy new gear.
A new van would not generally come with either in the list price, so why would second hand ones other than an enticement to buyers.
New ones come with an EHU cable and a step, they might be expected by the more savvy buyer.
Unless the battery is a young one and a quality one still very capable, I doubt I would keep it anyway, so leaving that with the van to help the deal might be a sound option
Items you sell with the caravan like battery & gas bottle will not increase price sufficiently to make it worthwhile leaving them if you can use them in your next caravan. Buyers of older caravans will buy on condition of caravan itself rather than the bits that come with it.
Only leave the items in that you will no longer need unless you want to faff about selling individual items like hitchlocks, aquaroll etc on ebay.

The simple answer is no, you would only leave those(and everything else)if you were giving up caravanning.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Taking those things out is like removing the light bulbs when you sell a house..not the done thing IMHO
What, you mean you're supposed to leave the bulbs.

We traded in our Charisma last year and took everything out. The dealer moved the battery, gas bottles and the motor mover to the new Challenger sport 584 and we got a very good trade in deal. J x
Trading with a dealer is a different kettle of fish to selling privately ..if dealing with a trader i would remove everything i needed,,,private sale i would leave the items the OP mentioned

Agree with blue expo, if you are going to need them in the new van keep them. You can get a few hundred quid for a motor mover so unless your price reflected a mover fitted that would be off as well!
