Was looking around salop caravans yesterday at the new touring vans was not Inpressed where the TVs as to sit in the front window
So when you're watching tv there no way to relax and put your feet up as there no where to put your back
And the layout with 2 single beds there no kitchen space
Who ever designs them must never caravan
I have to agree botty, I've given in to the wife and bought a Unicorn Vigo "cos it's nice inside", and I'm not looking forward to watching the tv which has to go in the front window and no backrest.

I also agree, our bathroom door is designed to fowl (hence the stopper) on our bathroom sink so it never opens fully...who thought that was a good idea.
Also the cupboard where our table lives (at end of our bed) is so very tight, I have to try to get hold of it with fingertips and inch it out. No where else to put it so tend to use another one instead.
Perhaps the designers should have to use their designs for a week before they're passed fit to build!
Botty, what caravan were you looking in? I have a Xplore 574 (2014), twin single beds, kitchen space is more than adequate. The TV is on a bracket and can be watched from the beds or from the living room.
Mike, I agree wholeheartedly, the majority of the time it is not even in the van but does go when the grandkids come along, they snuggle into my bed and watch it whilst breakfast is being cooked! Duties of a grandad 😏
We enjoy watching TV in the evenings as we find it relaxing so TV is the top of our list of priorities. We also take the Sky+HD box along as have a choice fo channels.
As for the backrest it is a deal breaker for us as we have the TV on the front chest of drawers. In our current caravan there is a cut out that can be removed. As sadi it seems some caravans are designed by people who never caravan. BTW on questioning this with a manufacturer we were told it was due to feedback from dealers.
Find it strange as our 2008 coachman , you can watch the TVs laid down on the lounge seats or in bed , via the nearly centrally sited tv cupboard with double tambour doors .... Looks like they are going backwards !
Can understand changes in cabinet design etc and lighting , but the old adage , if it ain't broke , don't try to fix it , comes to mind .
------------- Keep smiling, its later than you think !
we have ordered a Buccaneer Galera and we are having a tv bracket fixed to the side of the wardrobe along with sockets so wires not everywhere ,if we don't do this ours will have to sit in the window .
What did you think of the Bailey caravans at Salop Caravans ?
Perhaps the Caravan design teams are all made up of men! lets face it we blokes have trouble thinking and breathing at the same time.
It must be true 'cos my wife keeps telling me!
Was certainly true when 'we' visited a few motorhomes....Who the hell thought that was a good idea she kept saying as we went from one to t'other....
Or maybe that was her way to keep money in the bank?

Every day is a gift..That's why it's called the present.
Disappointed that Lunar have joined the rest losing two cupboards in favour of a high front window.
Always strikes me they put microwaves too high to get hot stuff out of safely. The trend for taking out extractors to make them a cost option whilst also installing a single piece door also struck me as odd logic.
Losing ends from front benches means the dog's cushion has nothing to rest against.
i don't know why they are putting wardrobes in living area . Yes making bathrooms bigger but one my farourite layout was with smaller bathroom and wardrobe in that area. And then having a cupboard for tv . We had two singles fixed bed van and a cupboard next to the door very nice space . We could put it there or on the front of the van . Which I prefere . ( because I'm nosey and like to see what's going on outside as well )
If the to was on cupboard you could turn it around and watch it while in bed . Perfect .
We have now down sized to a two berth van . Huge cupboard for TV plus other things as well . I am not sorry at all . Spacious lounge area.
