I am looking to buy a new Sprite Major or dealer special equivalent and wondered whether you get a better deal if purchased from the Caravan Show at Manchester or Nec early next year?
From what I have read on here, the best deals on caravans and motorhomes, are to be had at the shows over in Germany etc.
In fact there have been postings of folk buying at the Caravan Salon Show at Dusseldorf Germany, I think the last I read was the purchase of a Burstner 450 Premio at around £10k some £4K less than an equivalent van at UK show prices.
Even with the £ falling against the € it is still probably worth a punt!

It will depend when you want delivery as I was reading all 2017 build slots are now gone for swift so ordering at the Feb show will mean a build toward the end of 2017 unless you can pick up a ex display model or that dealer has pre ordered stock we have just ordered on the last day of the show at the nec and got what I think was a good deal. Grantham Caravans do a good dealer special based on the sprite called the Siena if they are anywhere near you
------------- Easter - Burford
May - WoodFarm Dorset
June - IOW
Aug - can't decided
October - Yorkshire
Plus many more weekends at every possible chance!
With the financial climate I have found dealers in most things are cutting back on stock so the deals are not there anymore as they have nothing to get rid of.
The NEC is probably better for offers. Just remember that its not like buying a car. Many dealers will not do warranty repairs if they didn't sell the van to you, so a bargain from a dealer distant from your home may prove expensive and time consuming to return for repairs.

I'm afraid the 2017 builds will have finished long before the end of 2017.
In fact at that point you will be getting 2018 models.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Sounds as if it's easier just to buy slightly secondhand, say 1-2yrs old off a dealer's forecourt. Same as a car really. You can buy pre reg off dealer's forecourt & have it on the road in 3 days or you can wait months for a factory order with no definite delivery date just to get the colour you want.
There seems no shortage of fairly new caravans. Look on ebay. I'm reading in another thread of a collapsing bed on a new caravan. Flippin' 'eck, I don't think I could take the stress of buying new. It's only a box to sleep in at the end of the day.
Buying a van that is 1 to say 4 years old certainly saves a load of cash. Also hopefully teething problems should have resolved but you still get the balance of the warranty. Note that for subsequent buyers the warranty may reduced eg Swift which is 10 down to 6 years for the body. Research warranties as some acrylic front and rear panel are only warrantied for 12 months!
