Looking at taking the gas heater out of the van, don,t ask!! The van is sited so there is no concerns re towing weight etc. Appreciate fitting a flue and double skin flue.
The question is has anyone fitted a log burner in a caravan, and if so was there any major problems.
Hi,
I have seen a log burner fitted to a VW IT 31 campervan conversion and also one in a converted ambulance.
As pointed out I would check for regulations.
Importantly, I would check with the site first as they might regard it as too much of a fire risk. Their insurance might forbid it.
Be a shame to do the work only to be told you have to move it.
Regards,
Greg
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Had one in awning using silicone tube.( look like road cone only shorter)
need to cut hole in awning push through tube put locking seal ring on out side put 6 bolts through ring and awning bolt to flange on tube ,only tapered top touches stove pipe about 6 inches above awning. did all cooking etc even had oven bolted on side(extra) need tin tray under feet for hot ash etc 3x2 feet with 2" walls, warmed van by leaving top half of stable door open. emptied local woods of dead trees and local merchant of broken and non return pallets + coal dust bricketts.
had one in once owned static van but this was a common practise
