Hi we have taken our awning down most of stuff gone in caravan and a storage box.we covered up sofa with tarpaulin and have a roll of carpet in tarpaulin both outside . How do you guys store your belongings when awning is down thhanks
because like most on here we tour with our caravan, everything stays in the caravan, and only the extras would go in the car, not that I can think of anything classed as extras at the moment, oh yeah stuff such as wet suits life jackets, etc etc

When it is in storage on the seasonal pitch we gave a carpet in the awning but nowhere to put it when the awning is down we have a floor in it so it's proper carpet x
Was thinking that but only got carpet this year thought to roll it put in a bag and try store it under the van . Mist people on site leave awnings up as it's only shut 6 weeks
where is the site? there is no way I would be leaving an awning up unattended esp at this time of year with the high winds we have been getting, maybe just roll the carpet up in a large poly bag then and put under the van on some wood to raise it up a bit? make sure its sealed tho so water cant get in if it was to flood under the van but more importantly you are going to have to watch out for mice making it their home for the winter, they can also use this as the extra height needed to get inside the caravan tho
Could you ask one of the other 'vanners if they would put your carpet in their awning for a few weeks, you could offer them something they may need in return
Hi the site is in Lytham . awe have asked the guy who owns the site could we store it behind the door in the laundy room for 8 weeks when site is closed he said that's ok so at least its ok . We left awning up till last week as we are changing the van in march as we need a fixed bed .So were getting another awning anyway .Ours was ripped in 3 places and repaired .But wind got it again and its ripped again not worth repairing to sell it. It was a camptech awning have had problems from the start never fit properly and 2 of the zips went. Would never get another one of those.
We are seasonal too.
Awning stays up all the time the van is on the pitch - March-October. During winter storage the awning comes home and after cleaning (pressure hose over washing line) it goes into the loft in its canvas bags so it can breathe. Everything else stays in the van. We have awning ground sheet so it just folds neatly.
