Just back from our first trip of the year - Had a great break!
Unfortunately I have now found 2 large cracks on the front panel of my 2016 Lexon 580! One of them goes from the side of the N of Lexon to the joining strip on the roof... about 2 feet long!
I have spoken to the dealer who has asked for the photos so they can contact Lunar on Monday.

Has this happened to anyone lately and do you have any idea how long it will take to fix and if it will probably be a full front panel? Is it the dealer that usually fixes this?

Many thanks

Having a Lunar, this, maybe understandably, drew my attention.

Trying to get an idea where these cracks were, ive had to pull up an image of the van in question.

Given the only markings are way above the window. You say one goes from the 'N' to the roof join? If its stopping mid panel (at the N), it must have started at the join, and worked its way down? And will maybe carry on down till it reaches the window if left, id assume. Where is the second crack?

This must entail a new front panel, usually done under warranty by the dealer. That said, its happened at the worst time, as i cannot see it being fixed this side of Summer, given its coming up to the dealers busiest period.

Hi Mick
Your right. It does look like it is coming from the join down. The other crack is top right looking at the front of the caravan. Its about 6 inches long coming from the join too.

I will be chasing this big time as the caravan is our main summer holiday, not to mention the weekends we use it too. I will keep you all posted

It should have a replacement front panel if their paying or you can get it repaired but better to have it replaced.
The cracks usually start at the joint where the screws go through the panel and haven't been aligned or drilled big enough clearance for the screws.

Its quite common unfortunately. I have seen a few.
Make sure your warranty is up to date and jump on it quick as a dealer told one of my customers they wouldnt get it done as the van was 14 months old and the front and rear panels are only covered for 12 months!

A number of different brands have issues with cracks on front and rear panels so you are not alone. The panel needs to be replaced as a repair will only last long enough until after the warranty expires as the panels are under warranty for one year only.

How do they get away with just 12 months on end panels? Its like saying your car bonnet and boot are only covered for rust for the first year. Ludicrous, given these panels are the weakest parts on the vans.

So to keep you all up to date.
After chasing the dealer last week the warranty claim is now with Lunar. Dealer is chasing for a response on Monday. So I will call on Tuesday.

When our Lunar was in the coachworks they found some damp and Lunar agreed the warranty repair in less than 24hrs.
