Family of 4 (kids 9&11) plus dog looking for a caravan.

Want a good 5+ years out of it.

Found one for £8495 at a dealer my parents used for years and really rate. Only seen it online.

I love the modern look and feel of it from the photos.

I believe it's classed as entry level. What won't we get that we would on a higher level van? Trade off is I would need a much older van to get a higher level van too.

We'd be towing with a 10 year old Audi A6 estate 2.0l tdi. Seems a reasonable match.

We've had the same van but a 2013 version. Great vans and I don't get the entry level comments on these vans.

The only thing you won't get unless someone has added it is electric heating, these models are gas only when they leave the factory. Adria are well built and have a good reputation for longevity.

We have had a 2012 one from new, and we have used it for over 200 nights with the six of us in it, in both UK and France as far south as the Med. For heating we use a Morrison's £10 fan heater with the built in gas heater when necessary, or the other way round. Bunks are a good length. Fairly lightweight van, but difficult to keep the noseweight down for towing unless the spare wheel is put in the car. Overall, suits us well and would recommend one.

Always makes me smile 'entry level'. Paying £1000s more for the super deluxe version doesn't make the living space any bigger so why pay more for bits you probably won't use & make the space even smaller? If you look after it you will get 25 good years out of it.

We have the 2012 model and had it just over 4 years. We love it. The bunks are really big - I've slept on one and my eldest son 18 does occasionally too. I think you'll easily get 5+ years. Now only 4 of us go thinking of taking out top bunk and using middle bunk and the single bed made from side table. We added electric heating and would recommend but prior to that used fan heater which was ok - it just made it better to have heater fitted as it used the warm duct system in the van. Entry level in this gives you what you need - we have not found any issues. lots of vans costing more seem to have loads of things that you might not use (e.g. Built in radio, external gas point, TV aerial, microwave etc) - with this can you can add what you really need once you've used it for a bit. We used to have a tent so it was luxury for us to have an oven!   It tows fantastically and is well built and solidly built. The space in the washroom is great - Room for shoes etc when you don't have awning up. Loads of storage space in van. Last year 5 of us we absolutely fine for a week with no awning - that's 3 teenagers! And we have a dog too! Feels spacious. Would recommend you go and take a look at it!

We have the same van and absolutely love it. We have 3 kids and a dog and it suits us perfectly.

As mentioned above it might not come with electric heating, but you can get a Truma conversion kit that is simple to fit. I fitted the kit to ours and it cost less than £200

I would suggest you go and take a look, but you might need to be quick. They don't come up for sale that often.

Go and take a look. I regret buying a Bailey over a year older Adria. I actually like the no nonsense Ikea styling of the adrias and I also think they are better built than British vans. I would have bought an Adria when I changed vans last year but wanted a fixed bunk layout with a separate shower cubicle and I couldn't find an Adria with that. I have the gas electric Truma heater in my caravan and I still take a fan heater for the kids end of the caravan.

Hi Veema

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of your advert.

Wow! It looks like a lovely van and with all the extra bits we could hope for but i think it's a stretch too far for us financially.

Such a shame....

Thanks again

We have a 542DK 2009, GREAT make, your really only missing:-

BIG skylights in uk vans
microwave, you can add if you want
Electric heating (only on the sportline model) BUT is easy to work round with a couple of small electric rads OR you can add the electric heateing element to the Gas heater. Most Adria dealers can do it but its not a cheep upgrade and MUCH less expensive to use electric rads.

Beds are bigger, vans are lighter and have a very different feel to the UK vans.

Would not have anything else now.

Happy Adria hunting. Let us know what you get.

lol, I heard about them from a family of 4 who had "upgraded" to a new fancy motor home. The lady called it her other halfs mid life crisis and reckoned the adria was better (they had to drive seperatly as they both work at the weekend at different times and needed to be able to go to work while leaving the kids and other half.

I did some research on them and went to a local dealer. Then I trolled the internet to find what we were after.

Happy hunting.

Ha!
I'm negotiating our purchase as a 50th bday pressie of sorts. So kind of midlife crisis!!!

DH is 50 next year and we had originally thought we'd do a huge family holiday to Canada costing more than we are looking to pay for a van. But camping is in the blood and things have changed with me woork wise meaning less disposable income and a van secures holidays forever more as well as the fact you can sell it if hard times hit rather than a 3 week holiday (fabulous though it may have been) and the coffers are empty.

We are totally in love with the sportline - bit over the original budget but offers a few extra luxuries. Hoping we can make a move soon but DH is at the end of a 5 year contract (he's in IT) and will be forced to move on at the end of march we think so need him secure somewhere before we splurge!!
