We are thinking of getting a motor mover fitted. Just wondering if it's worth going to the NEC show in order to get a better price? Not sure what sort of discounts, if any they would tend to offer at the show.

Might depend on the make of mover but several years ago when I purchased my first mover (Powrtouch) I got it at the "show price" even although I ordered it by phone from their office. Unless you want to go to the show anyway, try phoning up and asking if they will give you at the show discount price ( if indeed there is a discount price).

Ours is a twin axle. Show price is £1150 manual and £1275 auto so not massive reductions. Bigger reductions on the AWD.

Surely the site has a record of who went in and out last night and cctv, otherwise is it a gold site at all, sounds suspicious to me!

Gold site, cctv, access control gates, security guard - all bypassed by gaining access over a fence

Sounds like we got off light, other vans were opened using a crow bar & contents rummaged through & tv's taken.

Other than bedding & our awning, no other valuables are stored in our van and nothing on display,. Off to check the damage tomorrow. Guessing at £400 to replace the Alko stabiliser - they'd better offer to fit for free!

Didn't have Hitchcock fitted at the time, didn't see the need whilst in storage - hope our insurance company takes this onboard, but if they can find a way not to pay out, sure they'll take it!

Site very apologetic & security has been increased.

Sorry to hear that Beanyman. Certainly wouldn't expect that on a gold storage site.

Sorry but I'm not convinced especially as you say there is also a security guard! What difference would having a hitchlock fitted have made, surely they unbolted it and took it, easy enough to grind the hitchlock off later. Was the security guard having a day off!

Newbie caravanner only had the van 7 months - no idea how you take them off/put them on.

It'll be interesting tomorrow to see if others have been taken, if not, why take ours if others were closer to their escape route? - our van is about 25 meters from the point of entry to the storage site with several other thanks before ours.

Pretty sure I won't be the only one pressing for answers tomorrow Only just renewed for 12 months at £570 too!
