I'm hoping someone can offer some advice on putting the awning up. My dad has a Sprite Alpine 4 and a Bradcot Modul-air 260 and were not sure we're putting it up right.
We can't get the rear upright pole close enough to the caravan and have read the useless instructions over and over.
We put the awning through the guides, fitted the sides, pegged the back corner nearest the van, inflated the awning then pegged the rest. Our problem is a gap at the top of the support poles meaning there if a draft.
We've also noticed other makes and models have more securing/storm straps and there is a fair fit of flex in the wind.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you got one of the upright support poles in front of a window or the rear marker light?
This is the only reason why I can think there would be a gap allowing a draught to enter.
I have seen a 330 Bradcot Modul-Air awnings erected on a campsite and all the upright support poles were flush with the side of the caravan.

If it is on the left then as tango55 states is the support pole across the window. If so you will have a gap at the top once the support pole is put in place.
The gap between the window and the door on the Alpine 4 is not that wide so you must make sure you don`t go across the window.
Are you using just the module-air 260 awning or have you the extensions to make a full awning? If it is the full awning what extensions have you got?
You mention that it flexes in the wind. Have you ensured you have the pressure at 0.3 bar?
We've had the same problem, the instructions are shocking. We have the Modul Air 390. We emailed Bradcot with pictures of ours as it was a country mile away from the van on the left hand side. They were really helpful and emailed us some picture to try and get it right. You have to make sure the air beam is sitting on top of the foam pad ( caravan, foam pad, air beam) Can forward email we got from Bradcot if that will help. We've had ours up a few times now and still don't feel like we've got it right.
We have the same problem, and the awning is not across a window at all. My husband is annoyed, as we have the 390, plus the extension piece, AND the corner section. It all works when the whole awning is used, but as a large porch it is useless.... we have a Lunar Quasar, and my husband is convinced that if we raised the caravan by 5" by putting ramps/blocks under the wheels, then the porch awning would fit. Not ideal though - who wants a caravan needing to be raised up every time they pitch up??????
Hi read your advise on the thread, we're having the exact same issue, tried everything to get the pole flush with the van and there's no window/light in the way. Would you mind emailing me the copy of what bradcot sent you? We're currently away for 10 nights after setting up lat night and it's doing my husbands head in!
Bradcot also suggested to us to peg all four corners before inflating and but the poles in. We are currently away in France we did what they suggested and also give the van some extra height and it's fit great this time. We now having an issue with it deflating after 7 or 8 hours. Not happy at all with this awning. I think it's still in development and Bradcot have rushed to put it in the marketplace. ☹️
Thanks FAYEBUSH my email is amielou at hotmail.co.uk. We're moving on on Thursday to silverstone and setting up for another 4 nights so was hoping to try some of the suggestions from your email when we set up again. The guy who sold us ours from Wandahome claimed the bladders have a lifetime guarantee so shouldn't your deflating issue be covered under that hopefully?
We have a Bradcot modulair on an xplore 304. No problems with it we find that we don't have to use the poles as awning is attached all the way to the end corner when in porch mode and at both ends when in full awning mode.
FAYEBUSH -We have the same issue with our Bradcot modul-air 390 awning. Fitting against the wall of the van, not deflating.
Please can you send us the emails too? Jmcglynn at ntlworld.com?
Thank you
We bought 390 7 weeks ago and took it on holiday to France for 5 weeks. It was up and down 7 times and never fitted properly. Tried everything. However, when we put the back end down the awning rail and pegged down near the van it went up and looked OK. Make sure you tuck the up tubes behind the ones coming out on the roof otherwise the poles don't fit properly. The only problem with doing this is that the other end is right in the middle of the door.
We went to Dickinsons on Saturday and bought the other 2 modules to complete the full awning (15% off) which I am sure will then be ok. Just waiting for a dry weekend to try it out.
The main problem we found with this awning was that it needed a very flat pitch, even a slight rise and the up tubes bend. A down slope and the down tubes float. Hope you get it sorted.
