What sort of porch awning are you thinking of? Traditional style porch awnings are available with fibreglass pole options and lightweight modern style awnings have bendable fibreglass poles.

If you want the largest why not go for a full length awning rather than a porch one?

A porch awning, by nature, isnt usually of any great size, before it becomes an awning in earnest. They are usually maybe 2.5m square. And after that its 2.5/3m out from the van, and as long as you want up to the length of the van.
I have Kampa-Pro, about 2.5 square, albeit with steel poles (of which there are not that many). I can have it put up, by myself, in under 20 minutes including faffing with the pegs.

There are some porch awnings that are 390 x 260.

At present we have an dorema Quattro 380 but are thinking of going for the 430 one.As i am getting older i would like to use this awning when touring but the weight of the poles is restrictive.

Why don't you ring Dorema and ask if they can supply you with a fibreglass frame even though it's not one of their standard options?

Thats a contradiction in terms then. A porch that size on a house would be a conservatory! Call them what you like, they are all awnings at the end of the day.
