Someone has to pay for the silly rebranding and it is us!
I will not re-join and neither will I join the CC&C at their prices either. Far too many superior Independent Sites around and most of all a good few CL/CS type sites around as well if you have a look for them.
To be fair i'm having a little shock at how much some independant sites are now, £30 seems to be the norm with an awning child and dog.
It's something ive not really looked at in the past as i just book them and pay, it's only because i booked 1 night that i saw the breakdown of the cost.
Probably because of the rise of vanning for main holidays. Some folk are still frightened of flying/going abroad at the moment. Not sure why as we have more baddies in the UK now haha.
Unfortunately we will not see a price drop when they deem it safe to return to the sun.
Though I do know of one park that was £5 dearer a night than it is now. Don't know why but it is a nice park so the price is a proff.
We have changed our habits as to vanning, main holiday is flight to the sun, van is used monthly for long weekends. Week in the sun Feb and Nov, Turkey cheap as chips.
When the CC changed it's name to the CAMC someone posted a new thread in connection with this topic. I posted commenting that there would be an increase in fees as the hundreds of CL's listed in their book will have to replace the entrance sign with the new logo and that don't come cheap. Someone has to pay for anything related to the re-branding which obviously are the CAMC members but we only joined last year (before the new name) to mainly use the 'Adults Only' CL's but even their prices are slowly creeping up.
We have been members for years, mainly use the cl sites. We are also members of the c&cc.
May bank holiday weekend we were visiting friends and both clubs had sites in the area. There was a big difference in price.
Having decided to take the tent rather than the caravan we were surprised to find the c&mc site ( which also had some tent pitches) was cheaper than the c&cc.
We also continued with our membership this year as the caravan insurance was also cheaper with them.
Each year we always check prices etc before deciding whether to stay with either club.

The only reason we remain members is because of Green Flag and the CL network. For our long holiday in the UK we now prefer commercial sites which have more and in some cases better facilities and also at times a lower price depending on when you book. Also many commercial sites are in far better locations.
We have now discovered that France has superior sites at lower prices and generally with more facilities so a better place to spend our long holiday. Nice when you are retired.
Pretty much the same as above, but we only use CLs/CSs or small inexpensive independent sires and don't go abroad any more. OH is the sole driver and doesn't like driving for more than 130 miles so it takes forever to get to anywhere decent in France, plus it seems that you can no longer rely on good weather.
I find that I'm frequently comparing UK prices to those we pay in France. They do not compare favourably at all - and that's discounting the weather. We use municipals on our way to our final holiday location (very much cheaper) and then our main site which is again cheaper than 2 weeks in Devon/Cornwall. I have checked. We tend to use small C&CC CL type sites when in UK because it suits our needs but the larger more commercial sites are very overpriced (in our opinion)
I know going forward i'll start using CL's as my daughter will soon stop coming with us.
i dont mind up to £30 for high season but £37 is too much for a site that has no facilities other than a decent shower block.
