I read an old thread on here about servicing by Campbells. Some gave bad reviews.
This is our experience when we bought a brand new caravan from Campbells which was to be our last ever caravan after many years caravanning.
On 27/1/2017 my wife and I placed an order with Campbells for a new caravan to be built during March 2017 to be ready early April.
On 6th April, 2017 being the collection day I authorised payment of the outstanding balance (having paid a deposit on ordering) in the belief and on the understanding that it was payment for the purchase of a new caravan, built and completed in March 2017 as ordered.
We didn't receive the caravan we had ordered instead we were given one having been completed 12th October 2016 which had been stood in their compound since 11th November 2016 throughout the winter
The dealership requested and took payment in the full knowledge that we were not receiving the caravan we had ordered and believed we were collecting.
It was dirty and had several faults despite being assured of having a valet and thorough PDI.
The gas and electric certification only had 6 months left on them.
We complained and have been treated disgracefully.
As they were in breach of contract we were able to get our money refunded in full.
The experience has caused great distress. We are not youngsters!
We sold our old caravan having owned it for 17 years to make way for the new one and are now without a caravan.
Can you post up a few more details? At what stage were you advised it was not the caravan you ordered or were you not advised at all? Was a discount offered to encourage you to accept older caravan?

We were never told - we discovered it ourselves having found the gas, electric and final appliance check certificates all signed and dated 12/10/17.
We had agreed and signed for a brand new caravan and wouldn't have considered such an offer had it been made.

Glad to hear you were refunded in full which is the most important thing.
Hope you can get another caravan soon.
What are you doing now? Are you looking for another caravan? Tbf secondhand is better. The newness has been knocked off it. It's only a box to sleep in at the end of the day. I wouldn't let this put you off. There's always plenty of caravans about. I only paid a grand for mine & I'm out in France for 4mnths in it right now. It's working great. Just get something & get out there caravanning I would.
Yes. I've got the cash but I simply could not bring myself to spend £15k or more on brand new. I got rid of an '85 Monza last yr & then wished I hadn't. I paid a grand for another ABI. Didn't like it so put it back on eBay & got me money back. Ended up in my tent in France for a couple of months last yr wondering how it happened.
Then once prices dropped in Sept I got this 95 Abbey for a grand off eBay & it was a diamond. Bone dry & previous owner had serviced it on a yearly basis for yrs. All I had to give it was 2 new tyres & pump a cartridge of PU sealant into every gap I could find & it's all good.
If you go down the 2nd hand route, just up the road from Cambells is an independant seller,John Charles, had our 2nd Adria off him, really good to deal with
It had several faults that would warrant rejection in it's own right.
Not being picky just wanted what I had ordered and was paying a lot of money for.
Wouldn't buy a fresh rump steak and be satisfied with one that was a Month old
No offence taken.

If the certificates were dated 12/10/2017 that means the caravan still needs to be built? Did you order a 2018 model?
