Hi all just a quick question I have a Electrolux fridge. on gas mode the ignition switch do not light or flicker, do it have to be connected to car electrics to work IE light up or flicker.I have sterling caravan 1999 and I know the gas hob and fire ignition piezo works off the main 12v battery that a what makes me think the fridge switch is not working as theirs no life to it,I cant check anything at mo as in storage but needs advice as going to storage in a day or so and we have not used this caravan as yet thank you.

On gas, there is no 'On' light. Instead you have to look for the pilot light through a little window at the back of the fridge at the bottom.
The 12v light (often green)only lights when connected to the car.
The 230v light (red) only shows when on mains power.
I think you will find it's the other way round actually. On the Electrolux fridge, the 12 v light is red (the narrow rocker switch) and 230 v is green (the wider rocker switch) but the red one doesn't always illuminate although there is power reaching the fridge when plugs are connected to the towing vehicle. Don't ask the reason why as I don't know but this is what I was told by a service engineer when I asked why mine didn't illuminate in my previous caravan. The fridge in my current caravan is a Dometic which have plain dials rather than illuminated rocker switches.
