Hi we bought bailey unicorn Valencia 2013 from a dealer in Nottingham for £16000 last June 2016 ,after its first service they found 40% water ingress around the shower / rear washroom . We have only had this van 11 months and had three holidays in it. They insist it can be repaired under warranty my concern is can this ingress come this quick or was it there before we had it, pre delivery inspection picked nothing up they said . Can water ingress be cured or will this fault reoccur after warranty has run out and leaving us with the bill . Can I insist on a refund of purchase price or am I stuffed. Thanks for taking the time to help if any one knows
What you are suffering is nothing new I'm afraid as I've heard several people discuss water ingress in a new caravan for the last few years so you are not alone. What you need to do is approach the dealer and get the repair undertaken under the warranty. They should acknowledge your complaint and fix the problem but sometimes the customer is unsatisfied with the repair so then the second time around is to contact the manufacturer with your complaint. Quite often that should resolve the water ingress but unfortunately I have never heard of anyone having a refund. Don't be surprised if you tried to get fobbed off along the way but you need to stand firm on the issue till you get satisfaction.

Most manufacturers have at least a 6 year water ingress warranty. Our 3 year old van has just shown a small patch of 40% which is being repaired under warranty, nothing showed on last service but everything has to start somewhere. It seems that if there's a dry sunny spell or the van has been used and heated it can dry up and not showHope. Moral of the story is to get it serviced during a rainy period. Hope you get it sorted

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
Thank you for the replays I am just worried that the repair will last until warranty runs out , we can extend our warranty which we might have to do or change van when the repair has been done . Thanks again
We have a 2010 Pegasus that I found damp in last year whilst emptying the caravan for its service. The ingress was from the rear grab handles but hadn't been an issue before.
The issue was promptly dealt with by Winchester caravans . The black stained floor section was replaced and handles re-sealed.
No readings higher than 15% this year so all us good.
As mentioned earlier a problem has to start at some time.
We have yet to suffer damp in a caravan but our closest friends found damp in their 3 year old caravan, also a Bailey. They fought like crazy for a refund or replacement and got nowhere. The dealer insisted that only a repair was possible. One side of their van was completely replaced and that entire side was given a seperate extended warranty of its own. Perhaps you should ask your dealer about a fresh warranty on the work done
Just spoke to dealer and you are all right , no refund . They told me it is quite common to have this problem and the repair is guaranteed for 12 months. We have decided to take out extended warranty to try and cover any future problems . Thanks once again
