We used a Outdoor Revolution Oxygen Movelite T2 Driveaway Motorhome Awning. I have some photographs from our holiday last year at Witches Craig showing the awning on the van, it was the same van as you have. I will add them to my profile tomorrow so you can take a look. They are on my husbands PC at the moment. We sold our Gobur earlier this year with the gobur full awning but I still have the inflateble.
Sorry but can't find the photographs to show you.
Is there any particular reason you want an inflatable awning? Do you have a full awning at the moment and want an easier solution? As someone who has had a full awning (purchased second hand from Gobur) and an inflatable, these are my observations.
Full awning comes in two bags that can fit neatly into the gobur when towing. Poles on the floor and canvas on top of the cooker/sink unit.
Inflatable comes in one huge bag and needs to fit in the car. We used to sit it on the back seat with a seat belt on it was so big.
Both take the same amount of time to set up but the advantage of the inflatable is that the one we used had a sealed in groundsheet so it was bug free. With two huge mesh panels it was also easier to keep cool in the heat without the risk of flies coming in.
The problem you have with any awning is achieving enough clearance above the door which is why a Gobus full awning comes with an additional pole that goes across the roof lifting it enough to clear the door. We had to go down the free standing awning route to achieve enough clearance above the door.
Having said all of the above I did notice on a recent trip an Eriba caravan spoting an Isabella inflatable awning which cleverly projected the awning roof above the awning rail for door clearance. I have no idea if it would fit the Gobur but that would be worth while doing some further research on as it did look good.
Hi, we just wanted the easier option with a fixed groundsheet. It is trying to get the clearance for the door that's the problem. Where could I get the inflatable awninng
I would be happy for you to try the one I have. I am going to sell it but have not made any attemot to do yet. Where are you located as it is too heavy to post and I would prefer to show you how to fit it so you can see it up before making a decision.
An example of the awning we used is on ebay item number 322450903625. I also have the footprint that goes under the awning to protect the floor and a zip on sun canopy that goes on the front.
Whatever you decide to get, any awning suitable for a VW T4 or T5 will be the correct height for the gobur.
I will be looking for £375 with the footprint and canopy. Don't go for the XL version of this awning as it is for the taller campervans/motorhomes and your awning rail wont be high enough on the gobur for a good fit.
I will have another look to see if I can find the photos....
Hi, sorry but an extensive search has not turned up the photos, I suspect they have been deleted.
I have found another awning which may fit your gobur too. Check out the Kampa pop Air Pro. The awning rail height is 198cm max so you will need to check out the awning rail height on your van first to confirm if it will fit or not.
If you are interested in looking at the awning I have, I would be happy to take it with us on our next trip to Cirencester caravan club site. If you brought your van along or we could meet you in that area and you could try it before making a decision.
