Hi all, wonder if you have some advice, we've just bought a new (to us) caravan - bailey pageant Provence 2007. We'd like to clean the seat covers and wondered what's the best way to do this? Thinking hiring an upholstery/carpet cleaner? Thanks
We use 1001 upholstery cleaner which is diluted with water to create a dry cleaning shampoo and applied with a special upholstery cleaning brush where the mixture is poured into the handle. Apply and wait for it to dry then just vacuum the fabric which cleans and also leaves a refreshing aroma. That is the cheapest method but the best application which is more expensive is Vanish Gold Carpet Care which is a foam which is applied direct from the can but a recommended product especially if you have ground in stubborn stains. Although it is a carpet cleaner it can be applied to fabric (as stated on the can) which the results are excellent with leaves a stronger aroma than the shampoo method. The Vanish is our preferred method as it is more convenient for both furniture or carpets whilst away in the caravan.
I have just cleaned my velour settee with warm water, a dash of fabric conditioner and a microfibre cloth. Kept rinsing the cloth out as I went and doing a section at a time. It's now lovely and clean, (you could tell by the dirty water, just how much cleaner!) and fresh as a daisy!
