posting this for the benefit of any newbies on here ,we recently bought a used caravan and like most vans of a few years old while on our recent holiday we noticed that in sunlight the windows had a myriad of tiny scratches which obviously catch the light and show up .
not actual deep scratches just not really visible to the naked eye from outside .on doing a bit of research i was recommended FENWICKS WINDOWWIZE which i bought the other day cost a £5 for a small bottle ..
i have now done every plastic window in our van and tbh the results are totally amazing ,first wash then dry the window/s then apply the solution using a micro fibre cloth ,then simply buff off using a clean one ,the results are no less than amazing and the lady in the caravan shop told me that if i do it again in a month or so it will be even better .
I'll second that. Bought a bottle last year to deal with a scratch on the window of our previous van. Was a bit surprised when it arrived to find the bottle was much smaller than expected and thought "hmmph " but as Fox says, despite the bottle appearing to be small it's mighty powerful!
Not sure why my results from this product were poor, can't have followed the instructions properly, always use T cut on the windows now and they look great also.
I thought a link to an online source would be handy.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
i have a feeling a previous owner had used t.cut on my windows as i stated in the initial post ,there were no actual scratches but when viewed from inside looking into the light there were thousands of swirly marks like someone had scrubbed it with a brillo pad .
windowize removed all of those marks as far as i can tell
Vote for Fenwicks,a hedge put a scratch in our window, I used a 12v car polisher and Fenwicks finishing with microfibre cloth. It took a while but worked.
I use Vuplex perspex polish afterwards. Its australian and used on aircraft etc.
It puts a nice shine on and makes it easier to remove bugs etc.
Got it from local caravan dealer.
