Bought my first caravan, as above, but can't find any information on the max payload online.
Come to think of it can't find it on the burstner website
Anyone had one of these vans?

Does the plate give max laden weight & max payload or just unladen weight? If you only have unladen weight indicated on plate then crawl under caravan & look for max axle weight which will be indicated on underside of axle. That will be max laden weight as well if no other max laden weight is marked on caravan.

There is a plate at the front of the caravan with 900kgs on, not sure what yr and where would I find the chassis plate

900kg is probably the gross laden weight if its an older pre 90's model.

2 berth? No fixed toilet and fairly basic? A fridge and hob but no oven or hot water etc?

No it's got a double at the front and bunk beds at rear, but yea no fixed toilet and same with water.

Did you understand my previous post? If you have no other indication of the loaded weight then the legal max loaded weight will be the load rating of the axle. You need to get right under caravan & somewhere along the bottom of axle you will see axle load rating stamped on axle. It will be a round figure maybe 1300kg maybe 1500kg or whatever. That will be your max legal loaded weight.

The empty weight will often be 676kg with a +5% variation to take into account the variations in materials weight.

One letter to a caravan magazine found their caravan had virtually no loading limit left because it weighed far more than the brochure figures.

Instead of a 300kg loading limit they fitted a motor mover approx 40kg or so and then weighed it and found it to only have 40kg left to load the essentials and personal items.
