The camper is pretty good on the whole - its just doesn't do what it is supposed to when its been told you are towing. In fact, you might as well buy a cheaper version..
Been trying out Copilot Caravan for a few weeks now. Gives lots of options and not taken us down any silly roads yet like the Garmin did. At £35 we thought it was worth a try. Still keep check on map.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

I use google maps and make good use of street view. I have a good look over the route and any roads that look tight I have a closer look and plan around them if needed
Yes Mike, see my earlier post. I am very happy with my NozaTec. There are lots of settings but now I've got it set up to my liking. Brilliant . At the price doubly brilliant.
Hi Tony, I can set mine to either lorry or car you put your lengths in and choose car or lorry. I choose car and trailer. I don't really like recommending things to anyone because we all like different things but in this case I really am pleased with it.
I have spoken to several of the sat nav people about the problem of avoiding unsuitable roads when towing a caravan. It seems that there is really little difference between any of them as they mostly use the same data. The problem lies in the fact that the sat nav programmers depend upon the local councils to advise if a road is narrow as they do not check roads themselves and one councils idea of what is anarrow road may not be youts . So whether you choose to purchase a higher price make or something cheap cheerful there is going to be little difference and it is up to you to look at maps or take care before going down country laned
Rather than looking for specific caravan/hgv satnavs, look for another feature. One that will offer a choice of routes and then lets you do a preview of the chosen route from start to finish. That was you can see which roads it is taking you along.
The built in satnav on my car does this and it is a very useful feature, especially when towing.
