Your own personal wifi, a dongle without the wires; it's a mini hub sort of thing. And it normally works very well in the caravan, in most places without site wifi.
But on some which did, I found that, although the 3 Mobile looked like it was in business, a signal was not forthcoming.
The site wifi signal was, and I'm typing this as a result.
I've had this problem on other sites which provide this facility which normally you have to pay for . . .
You have of course, limited access and a non private connection.
Anybody else like to comment?

I couldn't get on with a dongle at all. I've got a Three mifi now which I've used at home and abroad with no problems at all. I also have a Three mobile which I tether to in this country.
Sometimes mine connects to the sites Wi-Fi, so i have to go to settings and do it manually,I find it's not very often I can't get a signal,I have to move it around the van sometimes
I tend to tether to my mobile. Don't see any advantage in buying a separate dongle or mifi device.
Generally find that "free" wifi is overused and therefore rarely better than poor.
if using a Tether or Dongle/mifi - Just make sure the device you are connecting is set so that you have to give permission for updates. Devices that are using Tethering/Dongle/mifi will treat the connection as though it's wifi and most are set to update using wifi only. This can eat all your data allowance if you're not careful.
Thanks guys. The site I'm on at the moment do a very decent free wifi, but I was miffed at not being able to use my minihub when previously I'd been able to.
Turns out that all is well. Might have failed to connect the charging wire correctly initially, but works fine now.
I'm only human .. . . .
