Hi folks, sorry its a newbie here, so probably some silly questions ahead so sorry about this.

I am just away to get my hands on a 2004 Adria altea, 5 birth, with power mover installed. The seller has all the paperwork for the van but I am just trying to get my head around a few things before I pick it up.

I noticed on the caravan that there is two connections on the tow hook. My issue is my tow bar on the car has only one connection. I (think) know the black connection will be for the lights indicator etc. What I dont know is what the other white connection is for, is it to operate the fridge on the move? Does this white lead also charge the leisure battery?

If this white lead charges the leisure battery, is there such a things as an adapter that the car can charge the leisure battery and still operate the lights etc all from the one connecction on the car tow bar.

Last question for just now I promise lol, when the caravan is connect to the EHU will this also charge the leisure battery?

The grey plug should power your fridge and charge your battery when towed. I'm not so sure about adaptors but I'm sure someone will keep u right on here.
As for EHU your van should have a built in charger that should charge your battery.

If the black (12N) connection fits the one on your car it will, as you suggest, just power the caravan's road lights (except the reversing lights) and you would need an additional (12S) connection fitted for fridge, caravan battery charging etc.

However, your car may be fitted with the newer standard 13 pin connection and in that case would only need an adaptor to connect to the caravan.

Cool bag and some ice blocks if you do not have two sockets. That's what we do

www.thecaravanshop.co.uk
Take a look at the above site, in the section Towing equipment you will find 13 to 7 pin adapters, we had the one without wires, (details below) and found it perfect for the job, run the fridge, lights the full works.
Of course other companies sell them it was just the first example I found via google search.

Towing Socket Adaptor 13 Pin to 2 x 7 Pin 12N & S
Vehicle Fitted With 13 Pin Towing Socket This Adapter will allow 2 x 7 Pin Plugs 12N & 12S
