Don't forget when buying,the dealer you purchase it from is the only dealer obliged to do any work for you. So if you buy miles from home and need any warranty work done consider the distance you will have to take it.

This is an issue that needs addressing within the industry.

It's a shame that the two clubs are not doing more to highlight and challenge the manufacturers regarding this.

The whole industry needs some kind of wake up call or a boot up the backside.

Buying a caravan from one place and being able to get warranty work done at another is a major issue.
So is getting spare parts, they just do not seem geared up for it. A Lunar we had in a repair shop waited sixteen weeks for spare parts, completely unacceptable.
A new Coachman we have now, so far has been waiting four weeks for an awning light, I mean it's only an awning light!

People are taking advantage of the new Consumer Rights Act 2015 and exercising their rights by rejecting faulty caravans. I know of several caravans that have been rejected in the past year including ours. This is on one forum so there must be many more caravans being rejected!

I attended the Elddis Factory open day last year.A very interesting experience. Dealers seemed to be mostly local to the Durham area (ish) I think.

Although I had a new Swift on order at the time it was certainly worth the journey.

The factory tour was good.

Interestingly most of the buying seemed to be going on in the Buccaneer models, the lesser ranges seemed to be attracting less attention.
