Hi people I'm probably going to get slated on here as I don't use a map lol. I have been using satnav for a few years and had no problems as I set it to a wagon mode.......BUT this year we went to Scarborough and the satnav tried sending me over some hills that the caravan was prohibited so I turned around and headed back to the main ring road around York sat Nov kept trying to send me back the other way but I ignored it!! My question is this, is their a way I can check what roads caravans can't go down and plan my route 1st using Google maps?
Or any other ideas as to what other people do I would really appreciate it
1st of all thanks for the reply. I have just edited my post as predictive text made it make no sense whatsoever lol!..... I have never thought of getting it to avoid unpaved roads, I shall try that cheers.

I was wondering if there was some sort of website that gave you a list of roads that caravans can't go for as this road was a busy A road
I doubt it.
And to be honest I have taken caravans down some roads that others would consider impossible.
If you have a look on Google maps though its between thirsk and Helmsley on the A170 it doesn't say anything about it being prohibited for caravan's....its a shame really as even as I arrived up to that point there was another caravan reversing back down and must of missed the sign

Yes, it's Sutton Bank and if you look on Streetview there is a warning sign about the restriction "3 1/2 miles ahead" (Eastbound).
OK thanks guys I was just wondering if there was a website that shows all prohibited caravan routes but not to worry, I'll do my homework more next time haha
My husband very often ignores the "lady" on the satnav. One of these days she is going to say "Oh please yourself, stop asking me" Or words to that effect
