Hi we have a old abi daystar 1993 2 berth caravan permanently based at Cardinney campsite in Cornwall and we're looking up upgrade our tired old metal pole and canvas full awning to a modern full blowup awning during this winter ready for next season but as the caravan awning rail is slightly rounded on the top and corners we need advice on measuring it up accurately as all the videos on YouTube etc are all straight rails and modern caravans any advice welcome please, darren
Personally I wouldn't use an inflatable awning on a permanent site ..... unless you were planning to only put it up when you are there.
It isn't what they were intended for.

Hi
we do only put the awning up when we're their on our holidays and when the caravan is not in use it gets put back into their storage freeing up the pitch, but as our old awning is at the end of its life poles and canvas a new one is required before next season.
Measure the straight bit along the top and get a length from that .,kampa air awnings come in various lengths to suit ,we have just bought a rally air 260 for our two berth van .as any longer would have gone over the front nearside window .yet to try it out waiting for the end of school hols .
We have just upgraded to an air awning. As we have an older, smaller four birth (1991) we realised that the largest air awning we could get was one that (just) fitted the straight part of the awning rail. That turned out to be 260cm, so we purchased a Sunncamp Swift 260 Air awning, which we are very pleased with as it has a single air chamber and goes up very quickly.
------------- The Sun always shines on TV.(and not on my caravan!)
As above .. we also have an older van -1995 Abbey Vogue, our rail curves but i measured carefuly and got a Kampa Rally Air Pro 260 which fits very well. You need to measure your rail heights at either end to see if a new Air awning will fit. Ours doesnt look perfect but fits well and is up in 15 mins
