Hi
Seen the 2018 new Bailey range and really like the Unicorn Cabrera, however my local dealer's Campbell's get an absolute slating in their reviews so am reluctant to spend a chunk of cash with them if their after sales service is so bad.
Any dealer recommendations please, happy to travel, got my current van from Peter Roberts in Huddersfield who are spot on, but don't do Bailey.
Cheers
Bought a new Bailey from Roper's at Catterick Bridge last year.
They were excellent: we were doing a part-ex with our old van and when we arrived they inspected the Lunar and showed us we had 100% damp from behind the shower all the way along the floor to under the bed. Given we'd had a service three months earlier with a clean bill of health (from a one-man-band NCC approved place) we were horrified to say the least and for a while I assumed I would be taking home the same caravan I'd left with earlier than day.
However, the value of having spent £25 to transfer the Lunar warranty when we'd bought it cannot be overstated, nor can the professionalism and incredible service from Ropers. They honoured the deal we had done with them saying they could get all the repair work done under warranty and the only inconvenience to them would be a few weeks wait until they could put the Lunar up for sale.
Flintshire Caravans are just across the border in North Wales but very easy to get to. I had a new to us caravan (not Bailey) from them and was pleased with the purchase, no hard sell and very helpful salesman. I cant speak for their aftersales as we have had no reason to go back to them. The van we bought never gave us any problems so perhaps that is a testement in itself!
Contrary to experiences of others, we have bought several vans from Campbell's and had no issues, with sales or after-sales service. I would buy from them again - if the price was right and I checked everything before taking the van away (as with any other dealer). You can often get a good deal from them at the Manchester show in January - don't know whether they go to the NEC.
Had my last 2 caravans from Campbells no problems think it's one of those things people post bad comments more than good.Had them both serviced at Campbells few minor things needed doing were done at the time and sorted.
If you want to come inland a bit I can highly recommend Dickinsons at Bradford. Had nothing but brilliant service over the last 9 years. Bought 2 new vans from them. They have loads of new baileys on their forecourt.
