I have a Domestic RM7291/7651 in my super sirocco. Over the weekend made a fan struggling noise , prior to packing up. We had it on the electric setting. Tried on gas and that was ok. I left the spec. On it in the caravan , but a 2 hour drive from me, as it is always left on site . but wondered what it could be, and if my son in law a refrigeration engineer could fix it, no doubt he could, but any idea what it could be, as I will have to wait for him to go to see it and get parts? in about a month. Thank you

If it has failed on mains electric but works ok on gas suspect failed 230v element. An easy enough fix for a person experienced with fridges.

Don't panic just yet as the temperature was quite high yesterday and 3 way fridges don't perform that well in high temperatures when on mains electric and recommend to switch over to gas till the outside temperature decreases. I would wait and see how it goes next time when the weather is cooler and see how it performs on mains electric as it may be okay. If it is then it is good advice and valuable knowledge gained for the future.

A fan struggling noise - sounds more like the motor (pump) has gone to me.

Surely it is an absorption fridge with no compressor.

Thank you everyone. Phoned the guy that does my servicing, he went and checked it, Checked all things out and found it was circuit board, so put a new one in, working ok he said.
