Gosh ... joined in 2007, and it's taken you ten years to post!

Didn't realise we were such a scary bunch!

Anyway ... welcome to the site ... and I'm sure you'll get lots of replies.

I've never been, either ... so look forward to what others post.

You might find it useful to study the exhibitor list and floorplan before you go (although both will of course be in the printed show guide) to make a note of any stands you particularly want to see.

When you say passed your driving test in 2008 is that for a car or the B+E test for trailers as well (over 3500kg combined Max weight)?

If the former then you will need to be aware of the extra weight limits you will need to abide by.

Why don't you do the B+E as it opens a whole new world when it comes to choice. If you want to see the various layouts go to this SITE

It's quite possible to live one's whole caravanning life without a B+E requirement. I've never needed to use the E part of my licence & I never will.

Its highly advisable to plan your route around the show as its very large. By the time you have completed one circuit round and looked at everything along the way, its unlikely you'll want to retrace your steps to see something you missed.
Buy tickets online at discounted price (CC members)to save long queues.
Many take a sandwich too as food prices and queuing for it are not a fun part of the day.
You may need a coat from the car park, but deposit this at a cloakroom - the halls are plenty warm enough.
Buses are quick and regular - you really won't want to trek back to the car/van at the end of a long day
