We spent £500 on our last caravan and had 4 good years with it. Then we sold it this July for more than we paid for it. We now have another one we bought for just over £1,000, and apart from the obvious styling differences it looks nearly new, despite being 25 years old! We were away in Suffolk with it a week or so ago, and there were no signs of any leaks in the heavy rain we endured on a couple of occasions.
With care you can get some decent vans for £1,000 or less, and the best time of year is coming up.
