I'm after a caravan me the wife and 2x 6 year olds (twins)
ive been looking at 5 berths like the idea of putting them to bed and having some lounge time, but the ones ive been looking at all have the shower/toilet all in ones ,
don't like that idea has the big problems in caravans looks like damp.
so I like some of the 4 berth one that have the shower cubicle self contained has to speak
ive got £5000 to spend would you go for a 5 berth ( because of the layout ) or the 4 berth because of the shower layout
The 4 berth with end wash room is nice as it gives you somewhere to dress as well, but 5 berth is also good for having lounge space for them and getting them further away from you in the evening when they are asleep.
You may find you always use on site showers etc so maybe the bathroom isn't important.

If your looking at beds front and rear then your going to get the compact middle bathroom.
Thats the layout that i thought was perfect for us, but then i bought a caravan with a side diner and its been so perfect we have owned it for 17 years.
Not sure what age of van you are looking for. We sold our owned from new 5 berth earlier this year. A 2005 Challenger 490L it had a side bathroom with separate shower rather than wet room. I think the layout was new that year and the same layout was available on a Sterling, Ace and Abbey. Our children had their own zone and it worked well for us.
We have a Lunar Quasar 525 double dinette 5 berth. The 5th bed drops down over the bed at the back so suits 2 or 3 children. Small bathroom with separate shower. This layout may suit you if you can locate one.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
