Hi, We've always had rather small, easy to tow caravans, but as we get older and we don't fancy the usual evening or morning trek to a toilet/shower block, we'd like a better washroom on board. I don't really fit in tiny showers, and I'm not fat! We've been looking at Hymer and Knaus 470's which seem very well made and have a good shower and end washroom, but I don't fancy towing something that big, especially as we live in northern Scotland where the roads can be 'challenging'. Can anyone suggest a smaller alternative please, which might be available used below £7k? Thanks for any replies..

We are happy with our caravan, not German, large rear washroom, large shower and large wardrobe; not to big a caravan but plenty of room and space. We tend to use ours on Temporary Holiday Sites, 5 van sites with no facilities so showering for 2 of use is no problem.
Plenty of 2 berth end washrooms. Se have the Bailey Pursuit 400-2, same as Octavia's except the wardrobe is in the washroom.
Getting rid of a tall thing like a wardrobe from the living space seems to make a small van look really spacious. Also we keep all our clothes in it as it has 2 big shelves. So easy to use for dressing etc.
Only 13 feet long.
The older equivalent is the Orion which may be cheaper.
Hi, Many thanks for the two replies. We have a VW Passat Alltrack (DSG auto) which we use to pull a horse trailer and one horse, which together weigh approx. 1600Kg, so we know the car is capable of pulling a 470 or 480, but we just don't want that bulk and size. I'll certainly eyeball the the Bailey Pursuit & Orion.
I'm also a little concerned about towing large loads with the DSG gearbox, but that's just me..
We've had 5 or 6 'vans over the years, but none for about 6 years, so we're a little out of touch.
Thanks again,
Ed (louisdad) (Louis is a horse...)
