You will be able to get in through the main door without damaging it if it is the old Caraloc 640 type.

I wondered whether it might be an idea for Dexta to put an advert in his local paper asking for the owner of the caravan to come forward, (that is, if he has already contacted CRiS without any result) warning that the caravan on his land will be disposed of in 14 days if the owner doesn't claim it. I would think that's fair warning. The danger of doing that obviously is that someone else might come to the farm claiming to be the owner! He would need to ask prospective owners for proof of purchase.

I wonder what the proprietors of storage compounds do in these circumstances but my bet is that they wouldn't trouble much about disposing of the 'van, sending it to auction if they think there's any profit to be made.

Would you care if the owner was the actual owner, wouldn't bother with proof of purchase. My son has a caravan but no proof of purchase! Phone CRIS and if you hear nothing in a week get rid, if it has no CRIS number get rid, job done. I could think of lots of reasons why a caravan had been left on a farm but wouldn't bother really, bit harsh but hey!

Go ahead open the door have look for any information on the owners close it back up.
Like I said before if it is the Caraloc door handle you can and open and relock it without damage easily.
You can sell the appliances and bits then scrap the van to make some of the missing rent money back.
