This is a new one for us. The caravan was due for its service so we had to take it out anyway so decided to go away for a few days when we picked it up. We are now lovely and cozy on a CL at the seaside enjoying a change of scene. Note to ourseves...must do it more often.

PS Love this Aldi heating. Sorry Alde,don't think Aldi sell it.

Good for you. We had a few days away a couple of weeks ago in the cold, crisp weather and hope to be away again soon. We love our Aldi heating too!

Hopefully away on 11th February, the weather is supposed to be clear and crisp by then. Was away as usual all over Christmas and New Year, but the CL we chose should not have been open, far too muddy.

We came home today after 9 days away,. We had 6 days at Rowntree Park in York and three in Moffat.
It was freezing outside but snug and warm inside the caravan. We used gas heating for maybe two hours in total over the 9 days. The photo was taken in York.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

We are in Stratford this weekend and it's wet and cold but providing you are prepared it couldn't be better.

Our Coachman VIP is lovely and warm and the Alde heating is doing a fine job - it take a while to get the temperature up when you arrive if the weather is bitter but at 23degsC it couldn't be better in here - we set up and put it on Elec and gas whilst we went off to the chip shop for tea - 45 mins latter on our return the van was really nice and warm - the days of warm blown air are long gone for us.

As a side note - TV reception on this site is always poor with surrounding houses having ariels on long poles - always a bad sign - on our last visit we had next to no reception on the silly little Avtex stick Coachman currently use - since then we has a Status fitted - reception here is now perfect - money well spent.

Winter camping is great but you have to be prepared for it and realise it's not the same as in the summer months - we use our caravan 12 months of the year and really enjoy the winter months as well as in the summer when the sun shines.

We're looking now to try and get away.

Had booked a full week away booked for the kids school holidays, but had to cancel due to work...

So we're looking a just having a local jaunt, not far, maybe up to an hours travel from home for 3 nights....
