You can’t leave buyers negative feedback Colin. If you are selling then as pointed out you need to answer potential bidders questions honestly then there is no reason that having bought it they should not pay for it unless they don’t bother to turn up which of course does happen.

This thing about non paying bidders will be chased through the courts etc blah is rubbish. You ain’t got a legal leg to stand on. Ebay is always a buyer’s market. If you get a non payer then it’s pointless bothering about it. Regular sellers just resist it & move on.

When I sold my previous caravan I was careful not to say much about condition. I just posted some photos, gave a brief outline of what equipment was fitted, and set a minimum price. Someone did ask me about condition but all I would say is "it's a 1988 caravan, come and take a look and make up your own mind". Someone did, and they must have liked it as they paid me more than I gave for it 4 years earlier.

Colin

Should have read “relist & move on” too late to edit now. Despite it’s detractors Ebay does work, I find. For private sellers there is no comeback provided bidders are not mislead. Obviously never list a caravan as “no damp” but seller will know the general condition of caravan so they will know whether it is worth buying.

I find Ebay selling quite fun. I sold one old caravan a few yrs ago & it was on about £300 just before end of auction & went up to £500 in the last few secs. The op should give it a go. At this time of yr they should get more than the derisory trade in offer they are likely to get.

I have been surprised by some if the high ebay sold prices of caravans even with damp.

I got most enquiries through Preloved and eventually sold through them, the buyer travelled over 100 miles with cash in his pocket.

Thanks for the input everyone, I have a couple of people who have shown interest in her and I haven’t even put her up for sale yet. I will be getting her fully serviced and damp checked and making any buyers aware of anything, as I am just funny like that. As far as we are aware she’s solid, or at least she was at last service anyway.

Someone will be getting a lovely solid van: I really don’t want to part with her, especially after going looking round dealers this weekend, the condition of most are just not a patch on her and these vans are much newer Maybe it’s cos two berths won’t generally have had kids in them perhaps.

Thanks again for the comments it’s been helpful
