Our new caravan has an external gas point which we have never had before so I have a few queries.

1. We have a campingaz camping chef 2 burner hob which we use outside for cooking things that are too smelly for inside the caravan. We have always carried a 4.5kg calor butane bottle to power this but it would save carrying another gas bottle if we could use this on the external gas point. However, the caravan uses propane gas. Can you use these stoves on propane as well as butane?

2. How do you attach things to the external gas point? We found a small brass tube type thing in the front drawers which seems to fit up inside the external point. Do you just use a jubilee clip to secure the other end of this into the gas hose?

Hi.

1. Yes you can use propane with that cooker.

2. Yes use a jubilee clip to attach the brass tube into the hose, and then use that to attach to the caravan.

I fitted an external gas point to my van and I use it every day when away with the van, I just would not do without it now.
