Hi all. Wife and I have just got a 2001 sterling eccles topaz , among the jobs needing to be done is new front centre window. I'm having problems measuring the size. I've been told measure width of hinge rail, then bottom of rail to bottom of window,( the window currently in place is too long so not a good guide really) also heard you simply measure wood to wood height and width so 2 conflicting methods. Can anyone please tell me the correct way, or anyone with this model give me the measurements off theirs? Tia, regards
Ian
Thanks everyone. Got correct size thanks to diagrams and found a window being delivered this week. Then it's nerve time towing on a trial run for 1st time. Plan is go out late,at night and just get a feel for car on different types of road before loading up and having a weekend away soon 😁
Can you fill in your outfit and location in your profile, please.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We have just bought the same caravan and it also needs the centre window replacing. You don’t happen to still have the measurements and where you got a replacement from do you?
Thanks in advance
Hi jade sorry i dont . However the width is the length of your top mounting rail end to end, and length is centre to bottom, and also side to bottom. We got ours from east anglian caravan breakers, took us quite a while to find
the size too we tried numerous breakers. If u need i can measure ours for you but its in storage so will be a day or two.
Thank you for replying and your kind offer of going to measure the window. I can go and measure mine it’s not a problem, was just trying to avoid going to the storage place just to measure it :)
