Is it just me and hubby that are very territorial over our pitch? Why do my next door neighbours instist on parking their caravan right near the line and then park there car about a foot over the line on our side.GET OFF MY LAND 🤔😲😠

Its when they walk on your pitch to cut through.....I take to pushing my kids over the line then shouting at the top of my voice that its rude to go on other peoples pitchs !!!!!! some times it works sometimes it doesn't!

Get a windbreak then you can fence your pitch all round that's what a lot do

ooooorrrrr you can just ignore it and get on with more important things on holiday like drinking cider and doing the BBQ.

I have seen many a time people put windbreaks around their entire pitch and have it like a little prison. What happened to people sitting and chatting to passers by about the weather or just having a natter?

It comes down to basic consideration for others. Encroaching onto the adjacent pitch is ignorant and inconsiderate, but whether you should let it bother you depends on pitch size, your own outfit, and whether or not the encroachment really causes you difficulty. If it does, then you are entitled to ask them to move over.

Glad others feel the same as us.The point(joke) i was trying to make for the duration of my stay i paid for my whole pitch so expect fellow campers to be considerate and respectful as we are.I dont want to and shouldn't have to fence myself in. when you both have a large 12 x 12 pitch there is absolutely no need for it when theirs is half empty.
By the way we did enjoy cider and cocktails we know how to enjoy our holidays 😎

Out of manners, politeness, courtesy and respect for others, I have never, or ever, will intrude, without invitation, on someone else’s pitch. Even if that means a lengthy detour.

Neither did I allow my children to do the same thus teaching them manners, politeness, courtesy and respect for others.

I or my children never allow my grandchildren to do the same thus teaching them manners, politeness, courtesy and respect for others.

You and other campers rent the pitch, so therefore it is yours during that rental. You should therefore be entitled to enjoy YOUR pitch without uninvited intrusion from others.

I always thought that was basic camping etiquette, if it isn’t then I will make up my own.......STAY OFF PITCH, or I will intrude on yours 😀👍😀👍

That's what I like about the campsites in France, as most have pitch's defined by a small hedge, or a row of small shrubs, no one else is getting on your pitch.

Agree entirely. It also makes the entire site visually more interesting. They don't have vans lined up like sardines either.

The campsite we go to in France has generous, well hedged pitches. One section, where we pitch for about 3€ extra per night, has fully serviced pitches. We register with ACSI each year, and total cost, including a good chunk of the ferry fare, is comparable to a non-serviced UK Caravan Club pitch.
We pre-book a particular pitch, all grass, but large enough to get our caravan, awning and car on twice over.
